# Add a Note to a Case

Notes allow you to record internal comments, updates, or observations directly on a case. There are two ways to add a note from the case inbox screen: using the inline note form in the middle of the screen, or using the **Add Note** button in the top-right corner, which opens a modal dialog.

## Option 1: Inline Note Form

The inline note form is located in the center of the case inbox screen. To add a note using this method, click into the text field within the form, type your note, and submit it using the button provided within the form. This option is convenient when you are already working within the case and want to quickly log a note without leaving your current view.

## Option 2: Add Note Button (Top Right)

The **Add Note** button is located in the top-right area of the case inbox screen. Clicking this button opens a modal dialog where you can enter your note. Once you have finished writing, submit the form within the modal to save the note to the case. This option is useful when you prefer a focused, dedicated input experience separate from the main screen content.

## Which Method Should I Use?

Both methods save notes to the same case and produce the same result. Use whichever option is most convenient based on where you are in your workflow. The inline form offers a quick, in-context entry point, while the modal button provides a distraction-free input experience.
